The client wanted to add to their existing portfolio of industrial buildings with a new, high spec steel framed building, which they would let out.
The dimensions of this new commercial property unit are 27m long x 17m wide with 6 metres to the eaves. The building has a total square footage of 5,000 feet.
The site is on the Bruntingthorpe Industrial Estate in Lutterworth, Leicestershire.
Initially we prepared the design work for the concrete floor, the steel frame and brickwork as well as the interface of those components coming together. As part of our remit we also took care of building control and approval, a service we offer to many of our customers.
To begin, the site was excavated in readiness for a new concrete floor and foundations. The scope of works for this project included concrete footings, concrete sub-base and concrete floor. A hot-rolled steel framed building was seen to be the most suitable solution with composite insulated cladding as well as feature brickwork and a dwarf wall around the perimeter.
We also supplied and installed the personnel doors and windows and to ensure added protection, an insulated roller shutter door was installed. Precast panels were used for the exterior to provide additional strength and durability.
Project manager Peter Lovegrove comments, “This was an open site with easy access and no issues, The project was completed on time and without any setbacks. ”
